Your Private Aviation Broker
Every charter flight is unique by nature. When you book with Feathers Aviation, you book with confidence — we find the right aircraft for your needs from within the largest private aviation network in the country.
A charter broker works on your behalf. Rather than navigating hundreds of operators and aircraft options on your own, you have one trusted point of contact who handles everything — aircraft sourcing, operator vetting, logistics, and trip coordination from first call to touchdown.
When you book through Feathers Aviation as a Charter Broker, you book in an aircraft that we don’t specifically operate. That independence means our only interest is finding the best option for your specific trip, your timeline, and your budget.
On-Call Service
Choose your departure time and destination and your aircraft will be ready when you arrive. No check-in windows, no gate holds, no delays caused by passengers you’ll never meet. Simply step out of the car and onto your flight.
Thousands of Untapped Destinations
Private aircraft operate from over 5,000 airports across the US — commercial airlines serve fewer than 500. That means departing from a local FBO down the road and landing closer to your actual destination, not the nearest major hub.
Shorter ground transfers. Less time in transit. More time where it matters.
Save the Time You Deserve
Pull your car to the aircraft. Skip TSA. Fly direct. Close a deal, fulfill a day’s work, and still be home for dinner — all in the same day.
This is what becomes possible when you invest in the most valuable asset you own. Your time.
Top Notch Safety
When possible, every operator we work with is vetted through ARGUS and Wyvern — independent organizations that assess maintenance standards, crew training, and operational procedures to the highest industry benchmarks.
We do not place flights with operators who cannot demonstrate certified safety compliance. Your safety is our priority.
Productivity on the Move
Our clients live busy lives. The aircraft is your office — conduct meetings, work in privacy, and use satellite WiFi available on many aircraft. Private aviation compounds your productivity rather than interrupting it.
Travel time becomes billable time.
The Right Aircraft for Every Trip
We match your route, passenger count, and preferences to the right aircraft category — so you’re never paying for more than you need, and never settling for less than you deserve.

A Broker Who Works for You
We’re not a booking platform. We’re an Austin-based team of aviation professionals who take personal responsibility for every trip we arrange.
Pilots on Your Team
Our team has firsthand knowledge of the aircraft, operators, and operational standards that matter. When we evaluate a flight for you, we do it with the perspective of someone who has been in the cockpit.
Personalized Service
You work directly with our team — not a call center. We know your aircraft preferences, your travel patterns, and your standards. You’ll always reach someone who knows exactly who you are.
Independent & Unbiased
We don’t own aircraft and we don’t favor any operator. Our only interest is finding the best option for your trip — not the most profitable one for us.
Aircraft Charter FAQs
A charter broker markets flights on behalf of multiple operators and helps match clients to available aircraft, while a direct air carrier (DAC) is the FAA-certificated company that actually operates the flight. Feathers Aviation works directly with vetted Part 135 operators, ensuring the safety standards and accountability you deserve.
Charter pricing is based on aircraft category, flight distance, repositioning (“deadhead”) legs, fuel costs, crew fees, landing fees, and catering. Feathers Aviation provides fully itemized, transparent quotes with no hidden fees—what you see is what you pay.
An empty leg (or “deadhead”) flight occurs when a charter aircraft must reposition without a paying passenger. These flights are sold at a significant discount—sometimes 50–75% off standard rates. Availability is limited and timing can be inflexible, but for clients with flexibility, empty legs are an excellent value.
While last-minute bookings are possible (sometimes within hours), booking 1–2 weeks in advance gives you the widest aircraft selection and most competitive pricing. For peak periods—major holidays, Formula 1 in Austin, SXSW—we strongly recommend booking 4–8 weeks out to secure your preferred aircraft.
Pets are welcome on most private charter flights and travel in the cabin with you—no cargo hold, no crates required. Specific pet policies vary by operator and aircraft, so let us know when booking and we’ll confirm all details in advance.
Private aircraft have different baggage capacities depending on aircraft category. Light jets typically offer 40–60 cubic feet of luggage space; large cabin jets can accommodate significantly more. Unlike commercial airlines, there are no per-bag fees—just practical limits based on aircraft size and passenger count.
Private charter passengers are not subject to TSA checkpoint screening at FBOs. Federal regulations require identity verification, and operators may perform security checks on passengers and cargo. You can typically arrive 15–30 minutes before departure and be airborne quickly—one of the defining conveniences of flying private.
Feathers Aviation can arrange private charter departures from Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS), Austin Executive Airport (EDC), and Georgetown Municipal Airport (GTU). EDC and GTU offer the most seamless private aviation experience—private terminals, easy ramp access, and no commercial traffic to navigate.
Every operator we work with holds FAA Part 135 certification and has been independently audited by recognized safety rating programs such as ARGUS International and Wyvern. These third-party audits evaluate operator procedures, maintenance records, and crew qualifications above and beyond FAA minimums—so you can fly with confidence.
Yes. One of the great advantages of private charter is flexibility. Itinerary changes—including departure times, destinations, and passenger counts—can typically be accommodated, subject to aircraft availability and any additional costs. Feathers Aviation works with you and the operator to make adjustments as smoothly as possible.
